I like to give objects from the past a new life. I create with vintage finds, use them as props in photos and make installation’s. Mostly, I enjoy having them around me and sharing with others. These gorgeous vintage Victorian style silk miniature’s are becoming harder to find. They are from the 1950’s, available in my shop ateliernostalgi
A little collage created from a vintage Australian recipe books and pieces of hand painted papers, wooden ice cream stick painted and washi tape.
As a child I can remember going on long trips to Melbourne by train . For lunch we would go to Coles cafeteria for a delicious ice cream sundae with fruit, jelly and lashings of chocolate or strawberry syrup. Topped off with nuts, cream and fruit.
This challenge has been more liberating in more ways than one. Only using glue, scissors and magazine cut outs, I created a series of collages in ’60s style and finally got the chance to use some of my vintage magazines for art.
A new collage using vintage postcards and photos. I used a beautiful Japanese prayer card a square of gold cardboard from a box of French chocolates, a vintage photograph of Mt. Fuji and orangy twine with a tiny cut- out from a vintage postcard. Handwritten words on Japanese paper.
A Japanese friend of mine translated the prayer card for me.
It’s an ancient prayer for a well balanced, happy life.
