Genivieve packed the dressing table drawer with thin tissue and very gently put the delicate antique scrap laces from her grandmothers wedding gown in, then reached for the chocolate box.
As the wife of a fine chocolatier in France, she knows, too much will falter her figure but she can’t resist the luxurious indulgence of chocolat.

Eco-Friendly. Handmade. Vintage recycled textile necklace. A vintage textile assemblage necklace collaged from recycled, vintage and antique elements to create layers & textures in French style.
Length -19 inches – 49 cm.
I created ” Charlotte”, from vintage cloth, hand – sewn and wrapped with vintage satin ribbons, crochet scraps and metallic silk threads. The necklace is embellished in places with Victorian bone beads, faux pearls and a 1800’s antique buckle up one side. This buckle was dug from the goldmines in Victoria, Australia.
Another buckle, Victorian, lay below, together with, a decorative metal fan shape with leaf embossing, a vintage glass bead in rose, a vintage, “Mother of Pearl” embellishment with an antique French doily attached to a hammered found tin, cap. I really love this cute VICTORIAN Figural Silver Napkin Ring available from my vintage shop nostalgi
Size 3-1/2 x 3 x 2 inches – 9 x 8 x 5 cm.
An original, charming and whimsical silver plated napkin ring from the Victorian era. This sweet piece features a dog begging toward an ornate scroll-edged napkin ring engraved with flowers, elevated on two scroll side supports. The design is fairly intricate, both embossed & etched.
The ornate edges and scroll supports are very detailed. There is also some beautiful work around the edges on the beveled rectangular base. There is a name tag on top for an engraved name.
The makers plate is on the bottom reads and states it is,
“Manufactured by Knickerbocker silver guaranteed – 207- high grade metal’
(Knickerbocker Silver company date marks 1894-1903)
I haven’t cleaned the piece, still in original condition as found with tarnishes and patinas. It is in excellent, antique condition with no signs of surface wear to speak of.
