Free Tutorials Page on my arts website Outlook8studio. Experimenting with Paint & Shellac.
Experimentation & New Free Tutorials Page. My blog updates have been scarce lately, as, Ive been studying a couple of arts business and creative courses. This week I created a new “Free Tutorials” on my Outlook8studio website , where I share some of my favorite, creative ideas and things to do.
I’ve also, been experimenting with shellac and acrylic paints in the studio
and plan to create some textile and sculpture pieces too.
My favourite thing to make on Free Tutorials is my large studio easel. I created it when I built my studio in 2000. I wanted something big, so I could work on many paintings at once. It’s a bit slap happy, (I’m no carpenter) but, works perfectly for me.
French Style Mannequin Drawings
In my house I have a collection of vintage shop mannequins. I use them for my art group, as well I like to I draw them quickly when I get a chance. Recently I created a series of quick gestural drawings and just listed them in my French style shop Atelierinparis
I used many layers of a poster I found on the ground in Paris with handmade painted papers and acrylic gel. I sanded in between leaving torn paper and scratches in areas. My interest in this piece is the quality of the surface. During the process I made marks with permanent pens and acrylic paints. Gluing on torn papers and tearing off with sanding.
When I travel I love to photograph graffiti and other interesting walls and doorways . Europe has some amazing street art, while, my hometown in Melbourne, Australia, is known as one of the world’s great street art capitals for it’s street art and graffiti. Street Art Melbourne
