Handmade French Bohemian Wall Hangings. Vintage French Chic.

I love making my French wall hangings. They are, all handmade using many creative processes and layers.
The base is made from thick board, covered with canvas. I then wrap it all with plaster cloth, to give texture and an old world feel. The whole lot is then painted with white Gesso paint.
Then several layers of acrylic paint are topped with, antique 1900s, French magazine scraps and vintage wallpapers. I then peeled, sanded and scraped back the surface to reveal the previous layers. Like peeling back years of wallpaper and paint layers in a derelict building.
For the next layer, I embellish with vintage elements, French fringe, tassel in peach pink and shredded vintage French laces and sheer fabric scraps. All finished of with some French trim to hang.
The final layers of embellishment can sometimes take weeks, until I find, or make, the right item I’m happy with.
They look great hanging in the boudoir, or any other room in the home.
