Vintage sun . A collaboration collage with my mum who was visiting.
I found a vintage photo of a family enjoying a day at the beach side. My mum chose the corrugated chocolate paper and positioned the boat wallpaper.
I then added some French flourish stamping to the background and colour to the sepia photo using archival inks.
We finished off with some handwriting, beach shell fragments and fabric flowers.

“Your Sunday Best”
A little collage created from a vintage Australian recipe books and pieces of hand painted papers, wooden ice cream stick painted and washi tape.
As a child I can remember going on long trips to Melbourne by train . For lunch we would go to Coles cafeteria for a delicious ice cream sundae with fruit, jelly and lashings of chocolate or strawberry syrup. Topped off with nuts, cream and fruit.

Whats under your Bonnet?
This was a fun project…I used a vintage 1960’s New idea magazine to cut out found words, phrases and images. Looking at my finished piece now, I can see the composition is all over the place with no central focal point and may change it in the future
I found the articles really funny and sometimes quite pathetic, on how women were seen and treated 50 years ago
Being a baby boomer myself, I remember going to rallies and protests for women’s rights in the 60s-70s
It makes you realize how far women have come since…
I loved making this collage using my collections of found papers and fabric.
I started off with an old school exercise book cover from the 1930’s. It was full of hand drawn maps. I added stitching to the map and some found vintage graph papers, aged canvas and a did a little hand drawing on tissue
The paper with one of the maps of Queensland Australia was very delicate, so I glued it down very carefully with archival gel medium. It’s a bit wrinkled but I don’t mind.
I added some fabric scrap from a vintage tablecloth depicting Australian wildflowers
Finally, I created little drawings all over the entire collage with pencils and ink pens
